Non-Conference Matchup With RMU-Peoria Scheduled

The first non-conference game of the 2019 season has been set.

The Buckeyes are set to travel to Peoria, Ill. to take on Robert Morris University – Peoria on Saturday, Sept. 28 (Week 3). A kickoff time has yet to be scheduled.

Ohio State’s trip to Peoria will complete a home-and-home agreement that was set prior to the 2013 season. A 2014 matchup between the two teams was cancelled.

In the first and only matchup between the two teams, Ohio State came away with a 19-12 victory in Columbus in the 2013 season opener. The contest also served as the Eagles’ inaugural game as members of the NCFA.

In that game, quarterback and current head coach James Grega threw a pair of touchdown passes and fullback Steve Benjamin added the third score for the Buckeyes on the ground. Grega’s second touchdown pass, a two-yard toss to wide receiver Matt Baker, served as the game-winning score late in the fourth quarter.

Ohio State still has two weeks to fill in its schedule in Week 2 and Week 4. Those games will be announced at a later date.

Ohio State’s full schedule as of February 27 can be seen here.
