The founding members of the Ohio State Club Football program are giving back to the organization they started.
On Aug. 6, founding team members Marshal Carpenter, Jordan Fleischman, Joe Budgake and Nick Herrin announced they will fund the Founder’s Scholarship, which will be awarded once a year to a club football player at Ohio State that exhibits outstanding commitment to the team and the campus community.
Active members of the program will be eligible to apply for the scholarship that will contribute financial compensation for the recipient’s club football related expenses such as equipment and travel.
“We could not be more grateful to our most senior alumni for their generosity and commitment to the program they started 10 years ago,” said head coach James Grega. “The Founder’s Scholarship is just the latest example of how we are continuing to grow our proud program through the help of our alumni base.”
The winner of the scholarship will be announced at halftime of Ohio State’s homecoming game against the Milwaukee Football Club on Oct. 6. Kickoff is set for Noon.
