Following outstanding season in the classroom and on the football field, three Buckeyes were named Academic All-Americans by the National Club Football Association (NCFA) on Tuesday.
Offensive linemen Ryan Walsh and Nick Untch were named to the team, along with defensive end Victor Mikus.

Nick Untch: Senior, Offensive Line
A first-year player with the club program, Nick Untch made his impact both on and off the field. In addition to starting every game on Ohio State’s offensive line, he also made 24 tackles on defense, adding a scoop-and-score touchdown in the national title game against Oakland.
Untch was named a second-team All-American for his on the field efforts while maintaining a 3.89 GPA and being named to the Dean’s List for the Autumn 2019 semester.
Ryan Walsh: Senior, Center
The anchor of Ohio State’s offensive line, Ryan Walsh has started every game the last two seasons at center for the Buckeyes and was also named a team captain on the 2019 national championship team.
One of the most reliable players on Ohio State’s roster, Walsh also posted a 4.0 GPA and was named to the Dean’s List for the Autumn 2019 semester and has yet to miss a start for the Buckeyes since the beginning of the 2018 season.
Victor Mikus: Senior, Defensive End
A second-year member of the team, Victor Mikus became one of the most improved players on Ohio State’s roster, starting four games for the Buckeyes in 2019.
He collected 17 total tackles and forced a fumble in the national championship game against Oakland, helping Ohio State to a 36-9 win in the title game. In addition to his success on the field, Mikus posted a 3.9 GPA and was named to the Dean’s List.
