For the first time in four years, Ohio State and George Mason will renew their NCFA rivalry.
The Buckeyes and Patriots agreed to a home-and-home series this week, which will bring George Mason to Columbus for the first time since 2014, and send Ohio State to Fairfax, Va. in 2022. The 2021 matchup will take place on Sunday, October 10 with kick set for Noon. The two teams have met four times in the past, with the Buckeyes coming out on top all four times.
Ohio State and George Mason played their first game in 2013, a 29-14 win for the Buckeyes in Fairfax. The Patriots made the return trip to Columbus in 2014, with OSU holding on to a 20-14 win with a goal line stand as time expired.
The two programs met again in 2016 and 2017 in the NCFA Kickoff event, with Ohio State winning 30-0 in 2016 and 38-34 in 2017.
The Patriots finished 4-3 in 2019 and are set to begin their 2021 season against Williamson Tech. Ohio State is set to kickoff its 2021 season on Sept. 19 against Mount Union (JV).
