Ohio State Club Football is preparing for a stiff challenge in their Week 4 contest as the Buckeyes are set to take on NCAA Div. III opponent Wilmington College (JV) on Sunday, Oct. 11.
It will be the first matchup against the Quakers in program history. Ohio State is 8-5 all-time against NCAA JV opponents, with the last win coming last season against Ohio Wesleyan, 38-21.
The Buckeyes are coming off of a dominant 52-6 victory over George Mason last week in which Ohio State accounted for a pair of defensive touchdowns and forced five turnovers. Offensively, OSU is led by quarterback Corbyn Aleshire, who accounted for four scores against George Mason giving him seven total touchdowns through three games, which leads the NCFA.
Aleshire has completed 40-of-75 passes for 510 yards and five touchdown passes to just one interception. He has also rushed 18 times for 119 yards and two scores, both of which came in the win over the Patriots. His favorite target through the air has been Ricardo Washington, who leads the NCFA in receptions (19) and receiving yards (319). Washington, who led the NCFA in all major receiving categories last season, has also scored a touchdown in each of Ohio State’s last two victories.
On the season, Ohio State has rushed for 513 yards on 64 carries with running back Milan Jackson leading the way with 247 yards on 21 attempts. Jackson has scored five times on the ground this season, giving him 10 rushing touchdowns in his Buckeye career, putting him in a tie for fourth on the program’s all-time list, matching Jonathan Thiele (2021-24). Ethan Young, who has nine career rushing touchdowns, is averaging just over five yards per carry through three games this season and has accounted for a pair of scores this season.
Defensively, the Buckeyes posted their best game of the season against George Mason, as three different players came away with interceptions. Reagan Little, Oleksandr Kulyk and Stosh Niezgoda all hauled in a pick against the Patriots, with Little’s being returned for a touchdown. In all, six different Buckeyes have accounted for interceptions in just three games with Anthony Tulli leading the way with two, one of which went for a touchdown against Pitt in Week 2.
Linebacker Evan Riggs is coming off of a stellar performance for which he was named the NCFA’s Defensive Player of the Week after he posted seven total tackles, three tackles for loss, a fumble recovery and a sack against George Mason. He now has 12 total stops on the season after missing the Week 1 matchup against Michigan State.
While the Ohio State Club Football and Wilmington College football programs have never met on the gridiron, it is not the first time the two schools have met. Ohio State’s varsity program hosted Wilmington College on Oct. 2, 1926 with the Buckeyes coming away with a 13-7 in front of what was the lowest non-pandemic crowd in Ohio Stadium history.
The 2026 Wilmington College varsity program is currently 1-3 and is coming off of a bye week. Their varsity team is scheduled to play Hanover College on Saturday, Oct. 10.
Kickoff between the Buckeyes and Quakers in 2026 is set for Sunday at 7 p.m. at Williams Stadium in Wilmington. Rain is in the forecast so attending fans are encouraged to plan ahead. Umbrellas will be allowed in the stadium and admission will be free.
